Any way around this Vote Chess issue?

I am super admin of Under 1600 Group.  (join if you are under 1600 online!)  I am wanting to do some Vote Chess matches, but today I went to set one up and found that there is no ratings ceiling to input in my open seek!  While I understand that most (all?) other teams are not ratings limited, I feel like this disenfranchises the lower players.  Most Vote Chess teams I've been on with other groups are pretty much run by the Vote Chess captain and everyone does as captain says.  The captains are always crazy high and rarely explain their reasoning in depth.  Have a ratings ceiling still causes this group effect, but the ratings are lower.  As acting captain, I would have explained my reasoning for each vote.

When my group gets a little bigger, I'd also be interested in seeing if my group could play a member of another team that has a huge rating.  Obviously we'd lose, but afterwards having an extensive post-mortem would I think be very educational for the group!

It's an interesting idea, perhaps it would be better placed in the Suggestions forum? Not too much point reforming it now, however.

I agree with the concept; while I have no intention of playing vote chess games that are rating-capped myself, I can see why some people might wish to. All in all, it makes sense!

What about simply creating a group with only people up to a certain rating, and choosing to play vote chess games mainly against groups that are known to be not so strong at vote chess?
