Anyone else have zero to little talent at the game?

Here's the eternal truth. Chess is a game. It doesn't matter your skill level. When you win against an opponent (doesn't matter if he's rated 500 or 2500) it's still fun. That's the great thing about it. I remember playing as a 10 year old and it was fun. I left it for a decade or so, came back to it in a college chess club, and it was fun. Left it after college for another 20 years, now have come back to it online, and it's fun. Remember, chess has been around for thousands of years. Chess Ratings have only been around for 60 years or so. There will always be somebody who will mop the floor with you at chess, no matter how big your ego becomes, and there will always be somebody you can mop the floor with on your side. So remember their ego, be honorable, chivalrous, and have fun. And forget about the ratings. JMTC.

Really glad I stuck with it though, super fun game.
Do not worry. As you practice and play more, that slight jealously will turn into a raging inferno.

Chess.com makes me feel like a worse player tbh. At the end of a game, even one which I won, I click on game analysis and see the 3 or 4 blunders that I made. I enjoy the puzzles and playing real chess with my board against friends, but playing a game on chess.com is usually far too stressful for me.

Many people have got decent amount of talent, but fail to put in the hard work required to pull them up above the club player level.
Imo, at the club level, chess is 90% hard work, and 10% talent
.......unless you're like a prodigy or something

Really glad I stuck with it though, super fun game.
I'm pretty good at some kinds of chess it took me a lot time to learn it even tough i started at age 6 I lost a billions of games before I hit better if you are very slow I reccomend Daily chess I know some people who have like 60 daily games and like to solve puzzles but hate live chess

Most people you see online, no matter how high their rating, probably have little to no talent. Almost everyone gains skill with work and very slowly.

Agree w/ llama here. Especially about the "work" part.....a lot of people have this misguided perception that they can become a GM with 5 minutes of practice a day
Really glad I stuck with it though, super fun game.
