I've beaten bots rated over 1800 on a few occasions (it's in my game history) fair and square, but sometimes I struggle against others rated much lower. Was I just lucky, or did I happen to find the right opening at the time? I am currently having no luck against "The Velociraptors" no matter what.
There have been occasions where some of the monthly bots do have specific opening weaknesses or play differently for others
It's possible some of the standard bots do as well.

Cool, thank you! I was just wondering if they only played book moves or if they had a built-in weakness for players to exploit, though to be fair, it's not exactly a challenge for a bot to sniff out/capitalize on my many blunders and shortcomings. Practice makes perfect I suppose.
LOL premoving in chess is like texting “I love you” before checking exactly who you're texting, bold and dangerous, but yeah you are right leads to blunders, I've lost many a game doing it
