Bishops in end game but definitely Knights early on and in the mid game

In accordance with the general rule of thumb, I prefer Bishops in wide-open positions and Knights in cramped positions. Early in the game, I'll make provisions for keeping my Bishops safe from opposing Knights, like moving one of my Rook's Pawns forward to a3, h3, a6, or h6.
In some cases, I'll gladly trade a Bishop for an opponent's Knight if that means I can stably place a Knight on the 5th or 6th rank.
So basically, I like my Bishops a little better than Knights early in the game but, by the middlegame, it depends on the position.

Bishop are usually worth more in the End game and Knights can be quite a nuisance in the opening-middle game. Although it all depends on the game on which I would value more.

Surely everyone prefers knights, they're a lot more fun. I'd marry a bishop but I would snog a knight.

no surprise that most women would pick a handsome and charismatic knight in shining armor over a strict and chaste bishop, but what they forget to realize is that they would get dizzy riding the knight over an extended period of time, whereas the bishop is ever reliable xD
Prefer knights in closed positions and in open positions bishops are better.But if you see,knights are the best weapon to counter attack and also you will need a "bishop pair" for full utilization of bishops.Aron Nimzowitsch favoured knight over bishop while, Siegbert Tarrasch favoured bishop over knight.That depends on your playing style.
