How inaccurate is the solitaire chess approximate rating in a uschess magazine? I got in the rating range of 1800-1999, but I am only`about 1250-1400 OTB USCF, and I don't know why

Do you find lower rated players kinda hero worship you? I always find much stronger players a bit intimidating for some reason, not sure why, it shouldn’t really matter, we’re all human.

This IM is a joke! Nobody in their right mind would recommend the Najdorf to someone that just said they are a beginner. That is like telling a beginner skater to do the Triple Axel. You may be good at chess, but answering questions is clearly a weakness!

Thriller has a good point. Beginners between 0-600 shouldn’t even think about openings and beginners between 600-1200 should play simple openings with very little variations! Stuff like the caro kann would be a much better suggestion to a beginner player.
