This is a middle game position from Kasparov v Svidler from the Russian Championship in 2004

IM Alex Astaneh suggested that Svidler should have pushed the backward pawn:

"What I think Svidler should have played is simply the move pawn to c5, gotten rid of any potential backward pawn, and so probably the position should be very close to equal. For whatever reason, Svidler decided not to rush this possibility, he played Kf8."

However the engine says both 19...Kf8 and 19...c5 are inaccuracies and the best move is to connect the rooks with 19...Ra8.

The computer offers the continuation 20. Be3 c5 21. dxc5 Nxe3 22. fxe3 Bxc5

What move would you play here, or how would you think about this position if it came up in one of your games?

If I was black then ya I would have played C5, but as a 1600 IG I have no right to comment on a move made by a top GM. However C5 seems the best move. I also think of F6, but I haven't calculated anything so its probably a blunder
