Bad Grammar

Has anyone noticed that many grandmasters--especially those whose native language is not English--in their video lessons and also in their articles and blogs tend to use the world "sample" instead of the word "example." Am I the only person who is bothered by this?

Maybe you just can't read the apostrophy: Here's a 'sample.

If one sets oneself up as a "master," the least that one can expect is perfection not only in the area of expertise but also in presentation, especially in the use of English when making that presentation. Some of the letters in this section contain English errors, the use of "to" instead of "too," the mispelling of "apostrophe" and so forth, but I don't mind because these people do not represent themselves as authorities. But chess masters and grandmasters may be presenting brilliant ideas in chess but they sound like idiots whenever they open their mouths.    

I'm more concerned with actual natives whose English is worse than mine.

That and I do not have anything against the word sample: You're just taking a sample from the literature or the sea of chess. It's easy to say ''let us look at this sample line.'' 

You deserve a prize for noticing this.

Because he's the hero chess.com deserves, but not the one it needs right now.
