Thank you all for a great wonderful comments and for sharing. Regards!
Best first move for the white.

Umm here's what I get from my openings book ( btw if you want to learn more about openings you should probably get one )
-e4 leads to tighter openings where an opening slip could cost you.
-d4 leads to more "boring" openings where nothing much happens, d4 normally continues with d5 then c4 which is called the Queens Gambit, it's not a real gambit because hardly anyone ever takes the pawn black normally continues d6 with the main line or c6 which is called the Slav. I think newer players should learn both e4 and d4 lines.
-If you are looking for something fun and exciting I recommend trying these:
-e4,e5,d4
-e4, e5, Nf3, Nc6, d4 ( Scotch )
-e4,e5,f4 ( Kings Gambit )This is a little harder and you should probably study it some before actually trying it.

I like this book but it's wrong, new players shouldn't even study Kings Gambit, takes way too much to learn it. Took me about 5 months to study King's Gambit well enough to barely lose. Now I'm a very strong King's Gambit player.
Further more, I believe e4 is the best opening for white [for anyone who has taken the time to study many of its variations].

There is no "best" move, the different openings lead to different positions. A simple example is the old: 1. e4 leads to open positions, and 1. d4 leads to closed positions.
I teach kids in chess, and i always learn them to play 1. e4 and then just develop their pieces, just like the Italian. I believe it leads to good play, for beginners.
we all know thats a lie, when i play it d4 doesnt lead into closed positions, and when it does, its an advantage to white

if remember me... im the one who called you "the old lady" haha :)
i know u would like this one...

youtube video... can learn grand master tactics and different openings

What a tasty move from Conquistador!!! What a cake!!! it looks so delicieous! You must be a very good cook!!!
But I prefer 1. E4. I think Bobby Fischer mostly won by this first move.
Regards,

It depends on the plan that the person has. Taste strongly of e4, as well develops effective plan against the black pieces.

The best move is dependent on what your wants are from the game you are about to play. i.e. Do you want to play something that works well with your style? Do you want to play something that maybe your opponent isn't comfortable with? A combination of both?! etc...

thnx @cardinal
