Blindfold Online Chess

Who here has played this before? I'm surprised chess.com doesn't have tournaments in this rapidly rising variant of chess. It's usually the most up to date in terms of chess variants. When will this be implemented?

You can set your pieces to blindfold and boom every tournament is blindfold.

I'm not sure how the function works on this website - I was referring to actually wearing a physical blindfold while playing live chess games online. Chess.com still hasn't implemented this function.

If chess.com were truly modern you'd be able to use VR glasses to announce your move to pokemon and he'd run off to make the move.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a rapid rising variant. Mainly because it's been played for years now, like 1400 years give or take a couple. It's a challenge for anyone who loses focus easily but it's pretty fun to play.

Yes, something like this, except you have to wear a blindfold. Can chess.com implement this? (Also, only the paid members can have evolved Pokemon; free cheapskate moochers like myself only get basic unevolved Pokemon)

How many chess addicts does it take to change a light-bulb?

They did for a while but the little virtual midget who would hand you your blindfold, got in a labor dispute and started whacking people in the balls after they put on the blindfolds. It just got out of hand really quick, so they yanked the ball whacking little person and shut it all down.

Ah, a forward thinker ahead of his (my) time! I like it.

I actually don't see it here anymore or maybe I'm thinking of another website, but I remember being able to set it as blindfold and it made all pieces invisible and you had to read off the move list to see opponents moves. I don't know how blindfold works in real life but somehow I doubt it's 2 guys sitting in front of a chess board blindfolded grabbing at pieces.

In real life, I think it would be reading out chess moves (does someone physically move the pieces on the board live?).

However, this is blindfold online chess. You get a blindfold and make your moves. Guess it's too bad if you can't seem to find your computer as you play - that's just part of the challenge.

What I'm saying is, they already have blindfold chess online and what you're saying isn't it.

This is real blindfold online chess, not virtual. I don't like virtual blindfolds, they feel too... Fake. I like the feeling of some itchy, rubbery blindfold across my eyes as I struggle to find my mouse and guess whether the cursor is near the board, while my timer is running down. There's nothing else like it. I think chess.com should really implement the real blindfold into online chess.

It's good for improving your game vision,  but you have to be fairly good to start with to get anywhere.
