⚡Blitz is Bad?

Blitz is bad because you don’t get enough time to think, and often loses to the clock in a winning position.

Rapid doesn’t have these issues. Rapid gives the player plenty of time to think. You will hardly ever need to beat the clock unless you’re a very deep thinker.

I think so too, it makes players bound by time and unable to bring out their full talents

Bullet is worse dude

That is the point of blitz. If you are saying it leads to worse play, that is true. If you are saying it's worse for improvement compared to rapid then I don't think that is inherently true. Neither mode is great for improvement. The only way to improve is study and focused practice. Playing random rated games online won't help improvement on their own if you've hit a plateau, no matter how long the time control is. Not knowing what to do with 5 minutes on the clock is no different than not knowing what to do with 50 minutes on the clock.

Blitz/Bullet are essentially just for fun; they're not truly meant for serious chess skill development.

Most ppl think that blitz is bad, agreed I’m one of those but what we fail to realise is that the main point of blitz is that it trains you to think faster under pressure. I play rapid cuz I need time to think but to play blitz is much harder only few can think fast enough.

At least this is what I think

It can be used to test chess skill. If you can play a line in blitz, then that is a good indication you have a solid grasp of those positions. A combination of both slow and fast would be good.

Exactly

Based on this https://www.chess.com/article/view/interesting-chess-data-time-controls-and-game-results we can compute the game quality of games. I assumed that Quality = (timeout percentage x time consumed) ^3. Since we don't know the remaining time of the winner, I assumed that he also almost consumed most of their time because most of the time we are paired with someone with equal rating. So I assumed they are the same. I picked timeout to be the factor because most games with high intensity match ends with it. I raised it to power of 3 because our brain connections are 3 dimensional. Considering all this things the result will be:

1 min: Q = (0.610 x 1)^3 = 0.227

3 min: Q = (0.314 x 3)^3 = 0.836

5 min: Q = (0.230 x 5)^3 = 1.52

10 min: Q = (0.120 x 10)^3 = 1.728

30 min: C = (0.032 x 30)^3 = 0.885

Therefore, I conclude that 10 min games has the most quality.

Limitations - All of things discussed are just pure speculation.

i had M3  but i ran out of time and my opponent was instantly moving, and they were blunders

Although, people can practice with more pressure on the clock.

I still prefer rapid, though. It's better for grinding leagues XD

That's important when you are battling people who get like 1500 points at the end of the week.

Luckily, this time I didn't get opponents that bad, so I propose I should be promoted soon grin.png

My dream league, champion. I'll quit leagues once I get to champion because legend is too hard :/

Ok, enough of my life story 😂

Okay, but some people play to enjoy the game.
