I haven't read through this whole thread, but I think there should be an option to send 1 message and only 1 to someone who has blocked you. This would be very useful when someone has blocked you over a simple misunderstanding.

In general, blocking people because in your opinion they seem antisocial is antisocial itself. In groups, it blocks the free flow of discussion. If you block a person who has contributed to your thread, they can no longer read their own contributions because they can't see the thread any more. Some groups ban people who block other members without a very good reason indeed. Just ignoring anything they write is better than blocking them.
Your opponent whould be a bad loser and a troll.
