Actually, I did run into Bobby Fischer once, at the Main Branch of the Pasadena Public Library, on Walnut. It was in the basement stacks, in the religion section. 200 to 299 on the Dewey Decimal System.

...btw, I have fond memories of rifling through the Dewey-Decimal System card files to get chess books at a library in Brooklyn back in the mid and late 50ies. At one time, I had 13 chess books all checked out at the same time.

I've told you 627 times, simply and plainly, Bobby was the #1 best chess player in the world at his peak. Period. He was really that good. This does not make me a "fan boy".
In fact, I would not fault him as a boy...not in the least (except he should have gotten out of the house once in awhile and played stick ball and such, as I did, when he was a kid).
But as a man? He sucked. Ergo: I am not a "fan boy". I am a factual observer. Period.
