The worrying thing is the implication that there are 33 Lady Gagas out there.

OMG! That means thousands of songs you know are awful, but the micro-chip in your head keeps playing them over and over...

There's a takeaway in London that sells micro-chips.

Not on purpose.

But they really are tiny, like human hairs made of potato.

You're all wrong.  Chess players do have bigger than average brains.  Most chess players are male.  Males have larger brains than females.  Therefore, since there is a higher percentage of male chess players than males in the non-playing population average brain size in the chess playing population is greater than the non-playing population.

No! i am a girl  i play chess! hit me on my homepage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The average human brain is 1500 grams. Here is a partial list of animals with larger average brain size:

Bottlenose dolphin 1600 grams

Asian elephant 7500 grams

Killer whale 5620 grams

Pilot whale 2670 grams

Sperm whale 7860 grams

Fin whale 6930 grams

Which of these animals do you think would make the best chess player?

seems a bit unfair.  if the match were in the water then the dolphin may have the edge.  on dry land, the elephant would obviously win on time.

"A good indication of intelligence is brain weight in relation to body weight.

What does body weight have to do with intelligence? Does a high body weight reduce my intelligence somehow? I see no logical reason to divide by body weight.

Oh yeah, you left off newborn human from your list. The newborn human at well over 5% body weight in their brain should be running circles around the adult human in terms of intelligence.

Elroch

The main reason for relating brain size to bodyweight is that large creatures use a much larger amount of brain for motor control. It is not obvious that they need to, but they do. Biggest brain of a land animal is that of the elephant as a result.

alot of my friends say chess players have bigger brains is this true?

No, bigger heads only. Laughing

Einstein had smaller brain than average 1.5 kg. What really matters is the brain percentage, grey brain cell:white brain cell ratio and most importantly where you use your brains!

I am not sure but I think most of the camels are ahead of us in brain percentage. Can someone check it?
