burning chess books

when books are burned the next step is genocide
Note my thread at #7 (ante) Treesong.
I'm sure with your multi-lingual talents you will be able to translate it.

"Dort wo man bucher verbrennt verbrennt man am ende auch menschen"
(Christian Johann Heinrich Heine)
Â
I was hinting on that but i did not know it was Heine

Now you do chum!
btw Do you remember Flank_Attacks.
He was a prolific poster-his threads still survive
but quite a while ago he just disappeared.
You any knowledge as to why?

I remember him Witkrag...he was a good poster ...no idea what happened with him ...maybe he ll be back

Do you know where Caroline is? She is also gone...the poster Flank Attacks was called ED...now i remember...

Yes.Since you were last on the site quite a few of the ones we may have known closed their own
accounts. For what reason I have no idea.

These reasons are probably personal...I needed to take a rest..chess was becoming addictive and it interfered with my work So I stopped just as i have stopped smoking...all the way a stop.

good for you.you're not a vaper then? The latest news is that Vaping may be even more injurious to the health than smoking!

I saw your brief contribution to the subject of book burning (1934 style)at #47.I have seen that archival
film before. We all know that Heine's prediction came terribly true in that Country.
Have you seen my picture at #10 ante.I made no comment but I am sure you will be able to draw
some conclusions about future aspects of the country concerned.PS we have to tread carefully in case some "snowflake" moderator construes our conversation as "political"OOps
Sadly you are quite correct. The internet will ensure that young people will have their learning
dumbed down.No original ideas.Copying other peoples' research work and presenting it as their own.
Classrooms riddled with laptops. The standard of teaching (or educating in modern speak) is rapidly reaching rock bottom. Some of the educators are not up to the task-the youunger ones may have suffered the same low standard of education. In some schools pupils are allowed to have their smartphones in the classroom. Some spend a lot of time tweeting, texting and searching certain websites which are not particularly educational! It appears some parents are delegating their responsibility to that "spy in the home" "Alexa "to read the youngsters bedtime stories,Let no one kid themselves.Alexa has a dual purpose -,one relating to the external disclosure of info to ............... (hazard a guess to whom????)
I welcome comments please. At least to what can be written on the back of a postage stamp.
There endeth the lesson.
