imo not an engine. i m in this range too (the 800 , not the 2400 lol) and white doesn t play something i can t understand nor i would play. the white player was in shape and the 2400 was in bad shape. can happen. rating is based on statistics, and even a very low probability is not 0...

If you look at the games, it just goes to show even strong players can blunder, especially in fast time controls.

Or maybe, the 2473 is slightly overrated.

/ I wonder why he plays so many unrated games.

An 800 plater only beats a 2400 player if the 2400 plays carelessly.

800 rated player has pretty much lottery chances of beating a real 2400. This guy is not a real 2400, just look at his game history. He got that high by gifting wins to himself from other accounts.

Whenever he started playing for real he started losing regularly to 1200s. It's sad. Sorry to burst your bubble, though.

Yes, that is also possible. I just mainly looked at the score graph on analysis, without really going over the first game, and it ended on a blunder and the 2400 was winning before that.

how did a 800 play like a 1500?

Avatar of AdamGerber

800 beating a 2400 is the equivalent of a junior varsity high school team beating a minor league baseball team. Just isn't going to happen. Either the 800 is much stronger than 800 or the 2400 is much weaker than 2400.

Here's a game @AliAmoyev played today: Got smoked by a 1600

The 2400 is a booster (you can see that he has used other accounts that are not-so-subtly named to gift wins to himself to jump his rating way above where his actual strength is).  Looking at the game, they both played like sub-1000s.
