Can I become a WGM if I say I am transgender?

Lost me there. Translation?

Female to male? Must the breasts be removed to qualify?

FIDE may object if you don't shave the beard.

Golf nobody. White tees for men. Blue for woman (closer)

Ah, of course. Forgot. Haven't played for years.

Edit: Women use the red marker, blue is for low handicaps...

About 15 years ago I met Angela Alston who was at that time the Texas woman champion. A dozen years prior to that, the San Antonio Club champion was Tony Alston... the same person.  Angela is transgendered and although she doesn't seem to play competitve chess anymore,  neither FIDE nor the USCF ever challenged her right to participate in women-only tournaments, nor was she denied the Texas women's champion title.  This would suggest that FIDE wouldn't deny women's titles to transgendered individuals who meet the necessary criteria.

my friend asked if you have any pictures of her

Yep. Bruce/Kaitlyn Jenner, an avid golfer was asked the question in an interview. He/she said men's tees to avoid any question of advantage.

Why would I have her photo?  Just look up Angela Jennifer Alston.

jennifer aniston?

Only GM titles. Best improvement I've heard.

Titles to programs might get sticky .

Maybe flavors.

Best programs rated as Chocolates

Lower rated as Strawberry

as for seeming dumb.  welcome to cc forums.  many comments are simply adolescent entertainment.

you call these thoughts "Indian Pychology", but it would be closer to either "Indian spirituality" or perhaps even "Indian mysticism".  Its an interesting perspective for sure, but not neccesarily the only way to look at it.

I'd be interested in how modern pychology looks at it.  of course, I could do a big ole google search on this.  I started out with the thought that a trans person would be the most interesting person to comment on it.

also apparently, the specific chess player Angela ALSTON is chronicaled in Jennifer Shahade's book "Chess Bitch; Women in the Ultimate Intellectual Sport"... if any one wanted paraphrase what was said about that person- that would be interesting...

@ deafdrummer

geezlouise omg... dumb maybe, but better than too serious. it takes some intelligence to have or recognise a sense of humour though, gosh.

the question wasn't 100 % serious in the first place or at the very least extremely hypothetical. and the (very long) lecture about transgenders didn't provide any answer. but thanks anyway ; it was an interesting read.

But full of horse pucky, made up nonsense and out right fibbing.

Arguing semantics to divert potential onlookers from true logic.  HA! It's like watching a bug squirm, laughable at best.  Stick to chess Darth, at least that is something you might be able to improve.

I did not say "dictionaries don't define words", I'd said dictionaries don't often account for the fluid nature of language. You might understand the difference if you were but a little bit more clever.

But then why am I even bothering to respond to someone who announces themself, via their username, as a troll?

On the terms currently being discussed; i.e. transgender, gender, sex etc., the dictionaries would have to be outdated by about two decades to be misleading so this point is pretty weak.

If you just type in "define: gender" into google you get a pretty good description of how it takes into account social or psychological roles instead of actual differences in genetics. If someone is quoting the dictionary here, its probably a good idea, and if its outdated then just read an updated version. Its not that hard lol.

I mainly am on the side of all your antagonists because you come off as a HUGE jerk in this forum thread. EdgaTroll is right...stick to chess tongue.png.

Well if this is not the most transphobic thread of all time, just glad I play on Lichess almost exclusively. It really shouldn't matter to everyone in this thread whether a trans person becomes a GM or not, seeing as everyone here (including myself) is way too low rated to achieve that. I, being trans myself (MtF), plan on becoming the first trans GM, but got a long ways to go, as I am only 1800 on Lichess. Once the pandemic is over, I got a shot at participating in tournaments, and I take lessons with the GM Vladimir Romanenko. Do I expect to be able to get GM anytime soon? Not at all, it will take me several years if I can get it.
