Can we have an engine analysis during our own live games?

Ok guys, let's face the facts. No one is dumb enough to believe that it is fair to use engines during a game, and no one is dumb enough to state it on a forum if they do do that. I've seen a couple of this  guy's games, and it is quite obvious his moves aren't engine level sophisticated. And for that reason, i'm gonna call this topic a troll, and believe that this guy is kidding.

So intelligent!

DetectiveRams

I know right!

DetectiveRams

Also can anyone tell me how to quote people on forums?

Smositional

You are intelligent. So you will figure it out in no time!

Damn Right, My Man!

This is an interesting idea My initial thoughts are that if implemented, this new feature you describe would greatly improve the quality of all games on this site. Additionally, ratings would increase, therefore making us all better players. You have my full support.

DetectiveRams

To quote multiple people, i think you quote a comment with a quote.

Holy cow!

Smositional if your hoping to contribute to this forum by being condescending and making smart ass replies to me trying to answer people's questions, then i suggest you don't contribute at all. As long as you have something noteworthy to say, say it. If not, GTHO

What would be the point in entering a game and have a machine play it for you? If I wanted to play against a computer I'd cut out the middle man and you could go find some meaningful activity.

I think that it would be nice if chess.com gave us the ability to analyze our live games with an engine while we are playing them. I would like to know who is winning and what moves are best for each player. Sometimes, I'm not sure what the best move is and having access to an engine would help. Thoughts?

I don't know dude... that sounds like cheating to me.

BUT, if we can legally have a computer engine with us in a live game, that'd be cool.

Guess if you need a computer to play your chess then mommy will need to be there when you buy shoes.happy.png

What I am asking is, how can you quote person 1, and then quote person 2 so they are not unaligned?

 I'm not sure.

LEAVE THE COWS OUT OF THIS!!! They need grazing time, so I can have a nice dinner when I come home from work.

The quoting multiple people option has yet to be utilized. If you do a "comment with a quote" then you end up with a threaded tree version.

What I am asking is, how can you quote person 1, and then quote person 2 so they are not unaligned?

Remember, leave the cows out of this.

Some people.. I believe are using .. already!

kennedyryderparis

If both players were able to access engines and play the best moves possible, no one would ever win, the game would always end up in a draw! And if you are not playing your own moves, how is this making you a better chess player?

SqueakyCrab

ya kennedyryderparis is right
