I am quite new to watching chess as a sport but was quite disappointed that the candidates needed to be postponed. I am looking forward to the Carlsen Invitational and I am a bit surprised that it is not discussed here. Or is it and am I missing it? Or is it too much an event from one of chess.com competitors and therefore impolite to discuss here (in that case apologies)?

Complete silence. That makes me wonder even more.
The tournament was even in our national news... what might be found on here. Think the only option is that our national news completely overrated it and as a result i am. That could very well be :-)

I'm looking forward to watching it too. I guess it's just unlikely to be advertised here by the site itself for the reason you mentioned and it won't be discussed on forums as much as the Candidates as that is the gateway to the World Champion title and this is online blitz, great to hear that it (or any chess event) was in your national news!

Yup. I am there. Agadmator is my YouTube hero and he just called the event ‘the biggest event in online chess history’ .
