Carlsen Lost!

What an exciting game though (I finally saw it). Yeah he was up the exchange but that bishop he took the rook with was his star player esp. with his knight so out of it -- I would have been tempted to keep that bishop almost regardless -- still it's hard to resist an exchange + a pawn, such aggressive play by Kramnik! I am a Carlsen fan and all, but this was still an exciting game, wish it would have developed into the endgame without the blunder but by then Kramnik's position was looking very strong.

Carlsen has blundered worse before, there's nothing "shocking" about it at all. Why do you say shocking? It's no surprise that Carlsen lost a game.
Because he has a 3000+ tactics rating if my intel is correct and that he had a very long win streak, and naturally, Carlsen fans do want to see him win.

When your opponent is Kramnik, you should expect to lose, even if you are Magnus Carlsen. The same thing works in reverse. Carlsen scored a nice victory against Kramnik just a few months ago. When your opponent is Carlsen, you should expect to lose, even if you are Vladimir Kramnik.

I (think) I understand your point, although my conclusion would be a draw.
Whenever, wherever and whoever you play against, you should expect to win - otherwise, you're starting out at a disadvantage.
This is a sad moment for Carlsens fans, the last game carlsen lost was July, all these months of happiness is finally over :(.
Please take a moment if you need it.. i know i do.
He lost in time pressure against Kramnik, as though it appears kramniks preparation for this opening did him good (Carlsen being up an exchange [bishop for rook] and a pawn, but computer said only +0.60 and it shows that carlsen had no more then a draw) and eventally Carlsen BLUNDERED a Knight and had to admit defeat.
So far Naka has lost with white as well against Karjakin, and 2 draws, though it appears another win with black might be possible with Anand winning against tiviakov (he is up a pawn)
This is truly a shocking tournament!
