musicalhair,
I believe you are correct. I was reading it as though the tie-break points were cumulative.

Well in that chart they are cummulative! I think they're keeping a stat that isn't used, and thus inviting the criticism. The only thing that made me click on the dude's names was just know that the chart couldn't be right, in terms of the tie breaks an how the points didn't add up-- 21-1-0 vs 20-0-0. I thought the dude withdrew from the tournament-- that is why I clicked on his name, to see if I could figure that out.
imagine a tournament w/ six rounds. Player A draws all his games but one with super solid play. Player B plays unsoundly but somehow manages to pull two wins out of his rear.
Which player sshould place higher?

According to the system I'm encouraging they should tie. 6pts for 6 draws and 3 points for each win giving play B 6 points. It would come down to tie breaks which leads back to the previous discussion
Tournament tables for uncompleted tournaments are only for interest sake. The table really only makes sense when it is complete.
At the early stages, I lead almost every tournament I enter, because I play too fast and complete my games quicker.
At the business end, however, I invariably get overtaken.

Maybe try entering rating appropriate tournaments? 1400-1600 range? You may fair better. Either that or NOT be the first one done. Take your time . Everyone else sure is
No, It seems to me the current standing is based on total points from wins and draws and thus is as much a function of one's performance as it is how far along in the tournament one is. I'm not sure that the standings on that chart big even matter. If you were to barely break through each round (playing more evenly matched opponents) right up till the last round and then you come out on top of that last round against someone that won all their games until that last round, then you'd have less wins but ought to win.
The cumulative points-- both the wins + draws, and the tie breaks-- seem just there for being there. It has to go round by round, that is why when you look at that dude's round by round performance each round is it's own entity.
