chat bug when emoji present in text

I don't know how the bug works but you might want to report bug or contact support about this.
I'm curious if anyone else has noticed this bug.
If I'm typing a chat message in a daily chess game, as long as there is no emoji present anywhere in the text, then I can type and edit what I've typed without any problems.
But, if there is a single emoji anywhere within the text, then I can no longer edit what I've written. Anything I type in the middle of my text automatically sends the cursor to the END of the text. It is therefore possible to continue typing the message, but it is not possible to edit the middle of the message.
This has been the case both on my iPhone and iPad for many years. Once a year or so, I send a message to chess.com. Only once I got a reply saying they would "look into it," but there was no follow up, and the bug is still there. I think it's been at least 5 years. I'm really curious if this happens to anyone else besides me!
