There are times when I play people in live chess with a rating 3 or 4 hundred points lower than I and I will lose quite badly.  In fact, with my rating here at chess.com at around 1500, it seems that a person with a 1300 rating here is easier to play than someone who is below 1000!  It makes me wonder a lot about cheating too, but I just figure it is all a part of playing online.

No excuse. If you wish to be understood, and respect your readers, put enough thought into your posts to add commas and periods.

If you can make sentences like those above you also have the ability to add punctuation. You don't stream all your words together when you speak, I presume.

MALVINSTARDUST

that is true its the lower rated ones that beat me on a rated game but im not going to report them as il play them agian and beat the fair and square.

Dietmar

There is no doubt that there are cheaters on Chess.com but they usually don't play at the 1100 level ..

MALVINSTARDUST

true thank you all for your comments but im going to shut down my account on here and find another website.

Where people don t make fun of the way you write things and when you say they say "THAT IS NO EXCUSE" im so sorry my writing of my topics is that bad

thank you

I think the more "obvious" cheaters are those that play a time control such as 1 minute plus 5 seconds per move. An extra 5 seconds would seem ample time to plug the move your opponent has made into a strong chess engine! For that reason, I avoid playing games where there is a time increment.

Yes, I've experienced games where my opponent has seemed to play almost without fault, missing nothing whatsoever. I'm happy to take these on the chin - if someone wants to cheat that's up to them. I'm happy in my own skin and wouldn't accuse an opponent of cheating even if I suspected it. I'm capable of (very occasional!) "perfect chess" myself and I have been accused of cheating which was unwarranted and unfounded. So much so that I emailed my opponent after I was accused saying that if I was cheating, why would I not have captured his queen that he left en prise during our game! That one got an apology!

Sometimes in a 5 minute game it seems like you are facing "perfect" chess or indeed are playing it as well. Usually a quick analysis of the game afterwards dispels this urban myth somewhat (and brings you back down to earth with a thud!).

Don't mind golendog, Malvin.  All us kids hate him.

I wouldn't worry about cheaters either.  There's a guy here that I play with regularly, against whom I am 0-60-2.  I'd bet all that I have that he's not cheating.  He's just way better than I am.  Also, I can't tell the difference between getting crushed by him and getting crushed by a computer.

MALVINSTARDUST

thanks im a good sport and except all my losses and remember cheaters never win!!!!

That's some record! I've a few like that myself (not over 62 games though!). But I have one or two records against club players (i.e. in real life) where I have won every game I've played against them. I think my record is about 12-0-0. My worst record against anyone is 1-9-1 (win/loss/draw) and of course I have a few against players where we have only played once or twice but these two stick out the most (especially the nine defeats - I couldn't understand how this guy ever lost games but he did... just not really against me!).

SimonSeirup

Your opponent is probably just better than you.

And cheaters will be catched by chess.com's cheat catcher system, busting a few members everyday.

Put your brain in gear, rat, before you post.

OP would rather play the victim than take responsibility for his posts, which he indeed is capable of but he'd rather not.

The above looks fine for the most part. So you know what to do, I think. I said you were capable, just not trying. Everyone has room to improve and almost anyone can.

Judging by how often you play chess on this site and how busy u r in the forums - I see why u are so concerned about punctuation and stuff.
