I was seconds from winning a game,,which I clearly would have won even if my opponant was not running out of time. Then I lost connection to the site. It came back up,,but would not load. Then I lost connection for a second time. I was then informed I had lost due to cheating. What!!! Are you kidding me!! I have never cheated in a game of chess and have no chess programs on my cumputer!! Tell me how this could have happened????

Are you sure that the word "cheating" was used? and not something along the lines of "violation of fair play policy"?

RichieRich96

No,,,you are right,,,cheating was the word I used,,,violation of fair play is the same thing in my opinion. So,,,how can losing connection be a violation of "fair play"???

RichieRich96

I did not disconnect,,,,I LOST connection on my laptop. I'm more upset about the points I lost after working so hard to get above 1200 again!!

I'm pretty sure that the server has no way to distinguish between a on purpose disconnection and a lost connection. Because the on purpose is more prevalent it is assumed that was the reason.

If this happens now and then it is no problem, about your point we all are sorry.

Thanks to everyone who responded. Since this is the first time it's happened to me,,I guess I have no choice than to let it slide. So now my new goal is to get back to 1200,,,and then to 1300!!
