Guys, this is pretty cool. Someone developed a new Chess variant that allows chess pieces to travel to the future and to the past to take down other pieces. I tried it out, and I have to say the game is pretty playable. I played white the first time with my dad and I sent my queen back in time and took his rook, and the rook was removed from the present. And the cool part was that because that rook has taken one of my bishop in the past, my bishop was REVIVED!!!!!

From the developer’s app description, which you can find for iOS and Android, they have written the rules of time travel chess as follow:

How time travel chess works:

Normal chess rules apply in time travel chess.

Pieces can travel up to 4 frames forward or backward from the present.

All moves have to be initiated from the present.

To time travel, select a piece in present time, then click on the timeline (the numbered circles) and choose a time frame you want to move to, the red squares indicate the possible moves.

Travelling backward in time allows you to take your opponent's pieces in the past, and this has an effect in the present.

Travelling forward in time, allows your piece to enter into the “time warp” (the four squares at the edge of the board) and you can decide where and when it reappears in the future. This gives you the strategic choice of blocking your opponent's advancement.

Each piece's ability to travel in time is affected by their normal ability to travel in space, by interchanging the time and space dimension.

How the pieces move:

The King travels diagonally, vertically or horizontally in any dimension 1 square at a time.

The Queen travels diagonally, vertically or horizontally in any dimension.

Rooks travel vertically or horizontally in any dimension.

Knights travel in an “L” shape in any 2 dimensions.

Bishops travel diagonally in any 2 dimensions.

Pawns can only travel in space.

It is a nice twist to the classic chess game!
