Checkmate with one queen against lone King

one of the basic checkmates everybody needs to master in Chess is the checkmate of the queen against the lone King.

If you are worried about the possibility of stalemate, keep the queen on the edge of the board a long way from the enemy king, but on an adjacent rank or file: i.e. treat it like a rook If the enemy king comes near, scoot to the other side of the board.

You shouldn't stalemate it's the easiest mate there is.

Of course, the stalemate presented is a little artificial, the point is just to remind the viewer to remain aware of it, even when it is winning.

This is an easy mate as long as you don't stalemate.
