How do you study games from chess books with variations in them? And in the annotations, sometimes there are references to other games that had reached the same position. How do you all approach this, especially since books give different lengths of analysis.
I just go through all variations including references to get most of the book. Anyway, I choose the book that doesn't contain too much analysis or it's going to confuse me!
