Chess clocks

Depends on what you want and what you think a fortune is. There was  DGT North American clock on Amazon a week ago or so, from some seller, that was priced decently.

I see some digital clocks over a hundred dollars. I would pay up to maybe 50 but that's even high

You can make a digital clock out of simple electronics if you have any soldering skills

Yeah, that's the clock I was mentioning. It is a good one too and you should be able to find it under $50 from pretty much any seller.

Yes @Martin_Stahl. It is pretty good and I grabbed mine for $39 so if the OP waits it may ckme back down again.

The only downside is the sound. If you want the beep you have to deal with it beeping every second for the last 5 seconds. Annoying. 

huh will that be ok in tournament settings?

You can turn the sound off. The only place it will beep then is during the initial setting.

Oh, I thought I posted that you could turn the sound off. Not sure why it isn't here.

The only drawback then is that you have to watch for the flag to drop because there is no notification that the flag dropped if sound is off.

But overall it is a solid clock, worth the money in every respect.

Oh, had I read more carefully, I would have seen you mentioned "if you want the sound."

But yeah, I like the clock. I got a DGT XL for me and the NA for my son but for the price point, the NA is great.
