Chess Coaching

Do people find the cost of coaching on this site is very costly or is just me.

Looking at some of the people that do coashing they will charge from about 30 dollers to 100 dollors.

If they were about 20 dollors maybe for 5 five lessons I might have a go.

Does anybody that have got coaching from a persom and it improved there skills and at the same time found it reasonable and that the coach showed a great interest in how you got on or was that coach just there to get as much money off you as possible and then moved on  to fill his/her pockets more??

Maybe I amy seeing thinks  wrong but I do believe there are very good coaches out there that are very reasonable with what they charge and will take an interest in how you are developing after, But to find them is the problem.

So any comments or advivce would be great to see what other people think and there experence of been given coaching.

Check this guy out. As far as I can tell he is the best price you can find for someone who can actually teach you something.

I worked with him and had a worthwhile experience. He's friendly too which is always a plus.

Thirty to one hundred dollars for ONE lesson?!!!!!!!!!! Good god.

Assuming a lesson is an hour, you are asking people to work for $4 an hour. That's not really realistic.

John is friendly, patient, and an overall excellent teacher.

Thanks jason 17. I had a look at his profile and  I have not yet tried him by just looking at his comments and what he gives you sounds very good. Also you Jason 17 advice that you got great experience from him help to think of giving him a go. His cost is very reasonable so nothing to lose to see if he can inprove my chess skills.

I also think it is not a bad idea people that have found certain coaches good and reasonable and take an intersted in realy trying there best to inprove a person skills that they maybe get a mention here. This will help people not to jump in at the deep end and show that  theses coaches also show they are not only fair regarding price and good also at coaching.

I am a bit surrprised that a coach can seem that they can charge what they like and maybe more comments here maybe may help to sort the good from the bad for people that are starting playing and so do not get a bad experience

In my view I have found one of the best chess coaches on chess.com. I would recommend anybody that wants to improve there game to give John Bartholomew a go.

This man is  defiantly up there with the best.

A good teacher is able to come down to a student level and John has this great talent. You could get another  chess teachers  that has a very great knowledge of the  subject but they just cannot  teach.

John Bartholomew has both. A great knowledge of the game but can come down to a student level hence here you are getting the best teaching for you money.
