Awesome.  Well good luck with the Bird's opening.  I'm still stumped with anything beyond 1.e4.  I didn't even know you guys had cocaine in England.  I was amazed, however, at the availability of hashish there.  You might have heard hash is pretty rare in the States.

One of the members of the band NOFX said in England we have good hash, weed, speed, acid and other drugs but our coke is rubbish. I guess being so close to south america is why you get better coke. Hash is much less common in the uk than it used to be though.

Absolutely!  And another thing about drugs and chess, is that while it may be fun and theorectically mind-enhancing, for me, about 10 moves into the game, I always get the overriding feeling of "Hey, I'm partying, I can think of about 10 million things I should be doing than sitting here moving pieces around for the next 2 hours."  lol.

Oh, and another thing, have you read Silman's Fourth edition of "How to Reassess your chess"?  In it he gives quite an interesting and entertaining essay on drug use in professional chess in the 1960's and 70's.  I'll give you the page numbers if you want, it's a hoot!

So, I take it nobody in the community is interested in the horse steroids and bovine tranquilizers for competitive chess?  Not a bunch open to new things, I see.  Silman would be all over this.

without a doubt methamphetamine will increase your alertness and it stimulate parts of the brain. a chess player on meth is like an MMA fighter on steroids it will destroy your game in the longrun but for the short term the drugs put you in the zone
