Chess.com beginning ratings should be changed.

New to Chess should be 100, and not 400, because players without any chess knowledge choose this option. Beginner should be 400, and not 800, because my friend knew the rules, but he fell down to 100-200. Intermediate should be 800, and not 1200, because when I chose this rating confidently, I fell off to 600-700. And lastly, advanced should be 1200 and not 1600 for the same reasons.

Just keep playing and your true rating will develop.

Yes, but this would make playing easier, since even new accounts would get people similar to their strength.

Like I said Fetoxo. Just play and eventually you will reach your average rating. One of the worst things you can do is get caught up in an online rating. Let that go and enjoy the learning.

Your daily rating is 1235. Lets say it drops to 1135. Did you suddenly forget 100 rating points of chess knowledge? Of course not. Just like if your daily rating goes to 1335. Did you suddenly gain a 100 points of chess knowledge? Again NO. A rating is just an indicator of your most recent performance. Its not who you are. Its just a number.

No need to change anything in uncertain starting ratings which happen once in your account's life

But 200.000 players join a day! Again: TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND PLAYERS JOIN A DAY! This means that 200.000 players have to choose their rating a day. And they don't know which to choose, because most of them didn't play rated games yet!

I always selected the lowest 400 and did not bother, after that I could get pretty close to what I am at chess in a couple of days maximum

Do what you think is best and good luck.

Yes, it will average out quickly no matter where you start it. I put mine at 400 and was jumping hundreds of points per game at the start. If I'd put it at 2000 and was really 400 level it would drop just as fast.
