Why is it that when I play Chess.com bots that are rated 1700, I win? But, when I play 1400 rated opponents in live chess, I lose all the time!!

Their bot ratings are nonsense.

From what I've seen, it can also be down to you knowing it's a real opponent, so you start to get nervous. Also, players have some days when they perform better than other days which is a factor, like in good condition or not. The blunders or mistakes players make aren't as simple as how bots blunder, but rather a miscalculation or wrong move order and it's up to us to spot it and capitalize on it. Also the bots, from what I feel, the bots perform worse by about -500 to -300 elo and sometimes they feel tougher than normal, and players are either underrated (not yet reached their true rating) or the overall pool in a certain rating is now stronger than before.

Yep I have had the same thing happen. Also sometimes I'll play like an 1800 bot, and when I check game review, it will often say it played like 2050. Rarely do I see the game review actually place the play at the bots rating. More often I see it usually about 100 to 150 above the bot.
