There are so many weird accounts that tease or maybe harass me on this app. They don't want to play chess, they just want to annoy me.

The above example is just 1 of hundreds of accounts that bother me. The unique fact is that most of them are under the Indian flag. Although I am sure there are still more good Indian players.

Have you ever experienced the same thing as me?

Why not report?

Reporting them is just a waste of time and effort. They will come again and again with other accounts. It will never end.

Thats not chess com or dating com. Thats Nasty com lol. We can report his account if u didnt blur his account to decrease some account like this. Btw i notice your chesscom language and u using Bahasa. Im Indonesian too, turut prihatin dgn pelecehan yg km alami

You can't be serious. How about you change your profile photo to a cat or something. You don't have to be a genius to figure this out

Blocking in no effort, it's like a couple of clicks.

You block them, and if they come again, you block them again, until they grow tired of it.

For every come back, they have to create a new mail address, then a new chess.com profile. That's a lot of work for getting blocked at first thing you post. You, on your side, in response to all that work, ruin it all with two clicks and goodbye.

Change your settings so that you can only get messages from friends (and also report+block the freak)

Accounts like that usually do not focus on a single person.

In fact it is very easy to create an account on chess.com, this task can even be automated along with getting new emails, using VPN etc.

Even being reported these accounts remain active up to several days before a moderator reviews the reports.

So take it easy and dont bother, people like that guy who messaged you is inevitable part of chess.com.

IMHO, things that guy was asking for are far from the concept of dating.

Chess.com provides a tool (direct messages, chats) but some people prefer to use it for a stupid purpose, it does not make chess.com bad.

P.S. The flag on chess.com (hence the nationality of a player) is barely can be taken seriously for new accounts.

I get harassed by “crypto investors”. I just end up by blocking them.

I don't want to flame the right or wrong, but i guess it would be the same thing in real life aka offline. If a man sees a pretty woman he will most likely approach her. Maybe not ask for such explicit details on the first talk or date but it will get to such conversation at some point. Same goes for the other side of the gender, mostly. Try to make your profile as neutral as possible and block and report whoever is getting weird. Cheers :)

i agree with what you are saying there are several accounts like this , i know few of them my friends have told me about . chess.com should start taking reports seriously and imposing IP bans for people who do it multiple times that could be one of the best solution as they should be account ban for one time next time IP ban

also regarding solution that you can get at your end is , you can change your privacy settings and set it to friends only , so only the people in your friend list message you that would avoid a lot of trouble

and i would advice to directly contact support by a agent and pass these account names to them so that appropriate action can be taken

thats not a solution

why should people change things of them when they are not at fault , actions need to be taken on the people doing it .

one of my friends have faced even serious harassment including asking pics, sending inappropriate messages and pics . but no action was taken at the end she only closed her account and left playing here
