As long as you don't use the crappy Windows browser, there is no need to play in Microsoft's app store. Windows 10 still functions as a normal operating system and Google Chrome works fine on machines so equipped. I use Chrome on both of my Windows 10 computers. I've tried a few Windows 10 chess apps. None seem any good.

Why would I want to embed the website in an app on a machine that uses the browser?
Every additional frame is one more layer that I prefer to avoid.
