chess.com should allow illegal moves and allow people to claim illegal moves

Then it would be hard for newbies to learn and play chess

I dont think thats a factor.

But again, it flat out makes online chess a worse experience for no reason and I dont see why that would be a good idea.

Maybe as an option for people who want this, though I doubt that would be many people.

That would just get rid of premoves.

Let's say you have a king and a pawn against 5 queens. You then make an illegal move and your opponent premoves a move back which is now illegal. Your can claim an illegal move and win even though you're dead lost.

sounds like it would create more chances to swindle for the losing side then. the winning player can't premove all his moves.

Wouldn't be hard to code, and I don't see how it would be bad for bullet when bullet otb is a complete mess.

do you know even a bit on how hard coding is?

Considering i have a masters degree in cs and already coded a functional chess game, it is incredibly easy. The only difficult part about programming chess.com games is the netcode, not the logic of the game itself.

This could be an OTB Simulator. It would be a great learning tool in chess.com. I'm not sure if it could be implemented using the Chess.com API. It would be useful to practice for OTB games, especially for young children or beginners that rely on chess.com to avoid illegal moves, but may overlook them in OTB. The app would need to allow *any* move, like the Analysis board, but the move would only be only committed (and validated) when you hit a "Send" button. If your king is in check and you hit "Send", you committed an illegal move and would be automatically punished by adding 2 minutes for your opponent. The app could help you fix the illegal move. If you do it twice (or three times - there could be an option to set these rules), you would lose the game. Other OTB rules could be added (these could be options). For example, touch-move. If you grab a piece and move it, the other user would see that move, and you would only be able to commit a move with that piece.
