I prefer play in chesscom, lichess is full of cheaters.
That doesn't mean that in Chesscom there isn't, but they are aware that it is something important to take into consideration and ban them more easily and often.
chess .com vs lichess

I’m new to chess websites these days, but I do recall MANY years back in my younger life I was on gameknot, and first let me say I’M AN HONEST GUY. I hate cheating and it goes against the way I was raised. I’d never do it, any more than I’d murder. I just don’t do that crap.
So looooooooooong time back I was on Gameknot and I won a game and for the shock of my life, they sent me a notice and said I cheated and they kicked me off. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars.
it was like Bye! Bend over and you get no Vaseline. No arguing allowed. No chance to defend myself. Just cold, hard YOU’RE gone! Strike three! (Actually strike one, but that’s beside the point.)
I was stunned! I stood there shocked like I got hit by a freight train! I knew in my heart between me and God that I didn’t cheat, but it made no difference. I was kicked out for THEIR arbitrary decision. No chance to argue my case. No chance to defend my honor.
It really sucked!
I've been on this site for a week and imo, Lichess is better.
I prefer Lichess's interface and design. I do not have a diamond membership, but I think Lichess's features + youtube videos suffice. There is no stupid puzzle limit on Lichess and the site is not filled with garbage ads. The community there is pretty wholesome too.

Exactly!
I only prefer cc for puzzle rush and daily games.

Use an AdBlocker (uBlock Origin, for example). You won't see ads anymore ...

I prefer chess.com because of the UI and game analysis but I do occasionally use lichess and I'm not saying it's bad.

I play on mobile app. I would rather just play on lichess where I am comfortable with the features, rather than downloading an adblocker and playing on this site. I understand why there are ads, but must they be so intrusive?

The weird thing about ads I’ve always noticed is their stupidity. They seem to think if we bug the crap of you by being just plain annoying and OBNOXIOUS and interrupting something else you obviously like, then maybe you’ll like us enough to click on us and send us your money!!
Duh!
if you’re on my sh*t list, then why would I ever want to buy what you are selling?
Like a mosquito or fly that keeps buzzing around your ear.

Yeah, that's a fair point.
Is your mobile Android or IOS?
I have an Android and there's a quick way to block ads system-wide:
Settings -> Connections -> More connection settings -> Private DNS, then in "Private DNS provider", type in "dns.adguard.com".
After this, you should see no more ads in your apps (including the Chess.com app) ...
There are sound reasons to say that one or the other is better, for me the best thing about Lichess is that it has a separate classical category. It makes no sense at all to have 10/0 and 60/0 in the same category, and it makes the "rapid" ratings on this site pretty meaningless really.
