I think I figured out the root of Andy's posts:

1. His avatar is a muppet.

Tony Clifton's profile pic is not a Muppet.  That's H.R. Puffinstuff, which was a very trippy and somewhat drugged-out late 60's-70's kid's show.  "Puffin Stuff," get it?

Just an observation.

You seem unusually obsessed with Andy.

Nah. I am simply amazed how Confucious came up with a bit of wisdom that sums up inane drivel in otherwise productive areas of discourse:

"Better to be silent and thought a wise man than to speak and remove all doubt."

Perhaps had he known where we were headed with the Internet he might have said something like this:

"Though one may  say a word that is never remembered, your posts are never forgotten."

That's not how it goes...

PawnPromoter316

Confucious didn't come up with that. It was in Proverbs, most of which were written by Solomon, hundreds of years earlier

And ivandh's right in the quote being incorrect; not being a troll, just pointing out

bigpoison

To attribute that quote to anyone is kinda' silly.

I'd bet on a Chinaman, though.

PawnPromoter316

You'd lose that bet lol

PortlandPatzer

Oh well....back to skittles. :):):) J?K

Ah let's quit all the bickering and let's all just dance, peoples!

AndyClifton

You really seem to prefer to digest shit (by reading it).

PortlandPatzer

Not too badly done were it not for Rowe being pronounced as in Row (long O silent E) instead of Rau (which would rhyme with how and chow).

Perhaps Farmville might be better suited for AC. There, they respond more towards his level (I hear even Baby Bush plays there since everyone there is at or near his IQ level though he gets mad because he can neither run his farm into trillions of dollars in debt not execute the retarded as efficiently as when he was Governor).

Try again and perhaps I might actually reward you by not responding to ya.

Even if that is puffenstuff, I'll bet they had a hand up his bum as well (which would explain the look on his face).

Good work though AC, your intelligence is showing (again).

eddysallin

everything was going along fine..until i heard CHECK !!

The personal attacks are tiresome and, despite the thread's subject, don't belong here.  Take your personal grudge up with Andy privately if you have such a problem with him.

About the thread's topic...

Today I was feeling like enjoying a few games, which I did. I won my last game when the opponent asked for a rematch. I declined, since I had other stuff to do. When I came back, I had this message waiting in my inbox "f**k you you arrogant, piece of s***".

Now, I always play with the chat off just because of this kind of behaviour when some idiot hangs every piece he has and decides to call me names. I should probably just turn on rest of the filters aswell since the most interaction that I see in online chess is just this kind of unsavory rubbish.

AndyClifton

having pored o'er the games of the Patzer

I must say that your play's not so hot, sir

(why's he so rarely won?

oh, he's from Oregon!

he's the guy they grow all of that pot fer)

AndyClifton

(With apologies to  )

PortlandPatzer

Getting closer. Try again.

Nothing personal. I am simply trying to figure out how in over 30k+ posts (is that even the number or are some of the points derived from chess matches as well?) there are few that are either very literate, concise or to the point of the OP's thread discussions or are not some type of one line diatrebe. Just something I noticed and then realized how easy it is to bait a hook with some people (ironically, this is the perfect medium to prove the validity of this forum).

Interesting though, I'll bet I could say something nice about him and yet the same type of reply would come out as well I imagine.

Oh and as for Oregon Andy, one of our state champions is now on full scholarship to play chess, another is an 11 year-old boy and yet another was scoring solid wins in 1 minute blitz at age 11 before several times winning the Oregon Open. We are known for a bit more than just pot here (perhaps you could use a few tokes to not be so angry and high strung).
