Chess for Oldtimers --- Good Idea !

Don't worry, that sometimes happens even in slower games, where I lose my focus due to life events happening. Sometimes in my case, I forget the analysis I did earlier and still reach for that bad but tempting move. As I often say, I like to play moves that look Tal inspired, but sometimes they are just plain blunders!

Thanks for the post Kasmersensei.

" Lying in bed would be an altogether supreme experience if only one had a colored pencil long enough to draw on the ceiling " ( from author GK Chesterson ).

An item from Golda Meir: " Old age is like plane flying thru a storm. Once you are aboard, there is nothing you can do. "

" Old age is when candlelit dinners are no longer romantic because you can't read the menu. " Quoted from Cindy Patterson.

A quote from Angus Walker for the math geniuses among us: " In mathematical terms old age is a condition reached when the rate of your receding hairline is directly proportional to the expansion of your waist ".

There is a good reason why they call him "Creepy Uncle Joe."

For some reason I have all my hair, but my waist line has expanded a bit (just the last 2 years).

One thing most of us old-timers have learned, that most youngsters still don't know:  trying to convert other people to our views in politics or religion is a fool's errand.  I figure life's too short to waste time on those kinds of un-winable battles.  I'd way rather waste time on an un-winable chess game, and it turns out I'm pretty lucky there.  I get a Lot of chances to do that.   :-)

convert is a strong term, mil, but those that have the ability to think are not so closed-minded.

I enjoy a good leftist rant.  Watching a meltdown is great COVID entertainment.
