Although a bit taboo sounding, eve since I heard about their being entire leauges and championships for blind chess players, ive always been curious in competeing in them with...a blindfold and TD specific for me to make sure I dont take a looksee of course. Not to be offensive but the whole aspect of these competitions fascinates me because it seems like an entire chess world for blindfold, just as blitz chess has its on seprate world so to speak. Is it possible to play in chess for blind events and just use a blindfold ? and if so is it even moral to play in such a event !?

You can play against them in conventional tournaments, provided there's special equipment at request. Then just put your blindfold, and embrace yourself.

Here's a picture of the recent club championships in England. The gentleman in the foreground has a braille set and dictophone - his opponent is not at the board. Another blind player  on the table to the back of him and facing, you can see with his hands on the braille set.

The blind player sits diagonally opposite the sighted player and they call out the moves to each other. The sighted player obviously with the normal board in front of him. A braille clock with display for sighted player is in between the the different boards.

I played one or twice against a blind man, it's really impressive to see it!
