Guys, you are way too late.

She'll have an hour to spare again, assuming she wasn't on her deathbed contemplating her last hour.

That would make a good thread. if you were on your deathbed with one hour left to live, what would you do to improve your chess?

Yeah, you might just be able to get your rating up a few important last points ...   Smile

It could be like that last scene in Schindlers list...  one more pawn, if I could have saved one more Knight,  just promoted one more pawn...

The other question is how important is chess then. I don't believe in chess after death.

I dont neccesarily beieve in it either, but I am studying Bobby Fischer's games for any weaknessess just in case.

Hmm, I think I will wait for chess lessons by Capablanca ...

Wow, it is possible that you guys just discovered the meaning of life. Prepare yourself for the chess game that opens the doors to heaven or the gates to hell...

If only strong chessplayers get into heaven, I might try and avoid it.

Turning Advantage into Victory in Chess by Andrew Soltis.  It's a my first chess technique book basically.  Technique is converting hard to win won positions, finding only moves, and instead of accumulating advantages it focuses on converting them.

Ok thanks, I have done the three tactic training puzzles Im allowed, will have a look over an old game.

I don't seem to improve much by doing those things though. I need dramatic results..   Im getting worse not better

.

Chess.com is not the best pkace on the Web for tactics trainer. There are dozens of better free sites.

Simply google chess tactics server, and take your pick.

I like chess emrald.com, myself.

For me, I like to look at two great grandmasters playing and study their styles of playing if I have only one hour to improve my chess skills.
