The opening scene of "From Russia With Love"  ( James Bond/Sean Connery for all you youngsters ) begins with a professional chess match with spectators.

I have been binge watching the old Perry Mason episodes in order and last night watched one from 1960 called "The Case of the Wayward Wife".

While you don't get a real close look at it in one of the early scenes there is a large black and white chess set that looks very much like a 5" Gallant Knight set.  One of the characters picks up a white bishop for a few seconds and if isn't a Gallant Knight piece it is very close. (The set plays no real part in the plot.)

1960 is also likely the first year that particular set was made.

It may well reappear in other episodes since props were reused quite a bit in that show.
