Chess is an anti-intellectual game.

Chess requires no analysis and no thought. It's a simple pattern game that a zero intellect gnat could play perfectly. Arriving at this conclusion has nothing to do with intellect and everything to do with rejecting the false gods of this world, the falseness of the world is what blinds everyone to every truth.

Quasi-philosophical ramblings and counterfeit religioso ranting...

None of this is true and none of it belongs here

Your quasi-philosophical lameness is indicative of the rote stupidity induced in your brain by the imbecility that is chess. You are a zero intellect player in a zero intellect game of life playing a zero intellect game of chess.

I think we can all agree with that.

Hello, StockfishVersion2023 happy
My close friend and relative has a high I.Q. She is 1/2 a century years old and throughout all those years, all the I.Q. tests she has taken, she's come up on the top amongst everybody else (if not first place (No. 1) then No. 2 or No. 3 -- on all the tests she's taken (within 50 years -- and that's very many).
She's been a member here on Chess.com for over six (6) years and has played many games; YET her ratings are low! Her low ratings are not a reflection of a low intellect because, as mentioned in my first paragraph above, all her I.Q. tests show otherwise.
I would put it this way. Chess is a structured game (meaning: the pieces can only move certain ways) -- luck is possible with your opponent because the average human being cannot see what moves your opponent will make many moves in advance. And there are literally hundreds of different setups that can happen in Chess.
A grandmaster once was shocked when his opponent won the game (thinking he did not have the intellect and skill to do so).

You need fast parallel counting abilities, if you can count up to 5, you can play chess not so bad, of course you can learn much book/best moves, tactical patterns or even whole games with strategies (i.e. remembering counts of threats and attacks in specific positions and many moves in advance). So chess is intellectual as a game, but restricted to this very specific counting and remembering abilities.

I can't decide if this is a troll post or indicative of psychosis. If you're not trolling then I urge you to talk to your healthcare provider about your belief that the world is false. You're likely to mistrust what I'm saying but the world is our shared reality and when your mind isn't grounded in the shared reality there is a very good chance that you can become much happier and safer, with the appropriate care.

We can settle this dispute. We keep playing chess whether it's intellectual or nor. StockfishVersion2023 rejects all false gods. And we all go for 100% accuracy. StockfishVersion2023 has a great advantage of finishing first. In just a minute. Case closed.

Nope. A high IQ doesn't mean you are a good chess player all the time.

Cyrus096

There have been multiple studies that have shown that IQ has no relation to chess playing ability. Also this whole thread is probably the dumbest rage quit I've ever seen

Someone's been losing a lot.

I say it's a solved game. But requires time management.

StockFishVersion2023, please consider changing your username so we know that you're human. As of now most people consider you to have no feelings for chess, therefore don't believe you happy.png

Furthermore, as Stockfish is the superior chess-playing entity, it already plays the most perfect and has nothing to learn from us, only itself. I'd reconsider your comments, if Stockfish is capable of doing so happy.png
