Want to know what google says about this:

board game
ˈbô(ə)rd ˌɡām/
noun

any game played on a board, especially one that involves the movement of pieces on the board, such as chess or checkers.

Look it up if you don’t believe me

In response to post #1:

If you look up “Risk Tournament”, you’ll actually find tournaments. They just probably aren’t as widespread as chess tourneys

Something like...

All dogs are animals
All dogs have hair
Therefore all animals that have hair are also dogs

That doesn't surprise me.

But years ago when I found out there are Monopoly tournaments, that really surprised me.

Monopoly... a game played by rolling dice and drawing cards. Wow.

It's a non sequitur!

Farm_Hand

Ok, how about

My dog is my pet
All pets are owned animals
Therefore I own my dog

Begging the question!

Even though no one uses that phrase correctly.

I can see how there is strategy, but I was still surprised there are tournaments.

When you say you don’t see them, how do you define ‘not seeing’? Because 3 seconds of googling got me to a page about Risk World Championships.

xDDD
