I see where someone has started a thread stating that they want to re-invent Chess. Sorry but that is just a waste of time because Chess is perfect just as it is.
Chess Is Perfect ( No Updates Needed ! )

Get rid of stalemate. Get rid of en passant. Let the Q move like a N as well as its current movements. Give Black more than half a point for a draw. All of the suggested changes have one thing in common: they would not update or improve chess, they would make it a very different game. People who advocate such changes are really asking for a chess variant. If they can find other people to play their variant, fine. As for me, just give me chess -- real chess, as it now stands.
completely agree with you now, but once upon a time when I was a beginner somebody used enpassant to completely reverse the outcome of the game.(I didn't know it was a legal move). Boy was I outraged by such obscure rules. Then again, if we allow castling(moving two pieces at once) No need not to allow En passant.
I agree

I'm sorry OP. I have new proposal for standard chess. Play Random openings for Championship and Candidate tournament. The White player draw balls 00 to 99. Then draw balls from A to E. Example. The result is B22. The two players play 1. e4 c5 2. C3. With this format, chess fans don't get overdose of Berlin games.

I see we now have a thread on the go here entitled " How Chess Should be Changed ". Sorry however the fact of the matter is that Chess does not need any changes.
--- Classical Chess is just fine as it is. Of course Chess 960 and other variations are also there for those players who might want to try something different.
--- Yup.
Yup I just spotted another thread where they want to get rid of all draws. Bad idea and let us look at a couple of examples why. Example A: You have a couple of players that compete in 2 games and end up winning 1 game each so therefore they both get 1 point. --- Example B: Again we have a couple of players who compete in 2 games but this time both games end in draws and again both player get 1 point each. Okay then WHAT The Heck was the big problem here in the 1st place ??? Hint: There will be NO Changes in the Rules !!!

There needs to be a idiot one that makes stupid moves and runs across the board and randomly kills pieces then tries to ref a chess match ultimately he wins every game because neither side wants an idiot to be a ref and they both resign to the idiot

Purists will disagree, but I say leave perfect play to computers. 15-30 minutes makes the games more fun, more watchable, and has the added bonus of that tingly feeling of schadenfreude when a GM blunders in time pressure.
Everyone wins but the purists, and honestly, they will all be in retirement communities soon. Shorter games are inevitable.
Well we have Classic Chess and we have Blitz Chess, no need to merge them at all. That is to say several versions of the game can be played without problems.

--- And yet another new thread where they want to get rid of the Stalemate ( NO NO NO ).
And still they go on about the Stalemate Rofl.
--- Yup they are at it yet again ! ( Sorry NO Changes lol )
Well they brought back a thread where they complain about Stalemates. Sorry but no changes are required, Chess is perfect as it is lol.
Thanks for the new posts.
