# chess is the best game in the world
Chess is a two-dimensional box. You literally can't think outside of it and play the game.

I always seem to be thinking about something outside the 64 squares when I sit down at a chess board...! Don't tell me what I can and can't do! (But you're right. I often get thrashed.)
Well generally speaking a game is supposed to be entertaining, and from an entertainment perspective, in my opinion Video games are the best
Â
But entertainment is highly subjective. You have people who have spent years of their life in videogame and switched to chess (other do both, other neither although these don't visit this site usually)
Doing what you genuinely enjoy should be the only rule.

chess is often more work than entertainment just look at the mood carlsen is in after hour long matches

But was it unpleasant really?
I'm pretty sure there is a lot excitment involved.Â
I have shouted and become emotional after losing a match.. I know Hikaru has done the same. I am nowhere near the player Hikaru is.
Really? It's exciting to sit there and analyse moves and lines exceeding 10+ moves? Analysing every single response, analysing whether the position is better, worrying about time management, being under stress from sitting there for multiple hours?
Nope, very few people I would assume would enjoy a type of format of gameplay such as that. that might lead you to ask people then play it. Most likely to keep their brains active, don't take it seriously and play relatively bad, etc.
There's nothing, for me, like that "stress" tbh. I love it. I'm not great at chess yet, but I don't really need to be. It frustrates me to be bad, but I can prioritize the game next to reality.
question..?  how do these dirty lil brown cow lovers.....manage to win above their rank...?
answer ....they are using computers...thats obvious....to meÂ
Got beaten by a 600 didja?

the nice thing is its not about excitement but your so concentrated that your not aware whats happening around you and thats a nice feeling to be "in the zone"

No one says u can't prioritize the game in terms of what's important. That's not the topic. The topic is whether Chess is the best game in the world, which is the title of this forum. I think it's the best board game by far, but in general terms of "Games", meaning sports, video games, or any other sort of games, Chess isn't anywhere near the top. Sure it CAN, be fun, but it's no where near as fun as a lot of other games.Â
