While I certainly don't mean to belittle or insult anyone's beliefs... referencing magic and spirits and correlating that to a "reliable source" may be the perfect example of an oxymoron.

It would be, in my personal opinion, a greater justice for the good of everyone involved to peacefully sit down and play a game of Chess together without fear of being persecuted for any number of dubious reasons.

Evil exists without the help of any influence.

Also, douge_viper_2011, please don't apologize for your English. It's brilliant that we're having a conversation right now. My grasp of Persian would certainly be much, much worse.

I'll be getting off of my soapbox now. However, if anyone wants to play a nice game of Chess please contact me any time.

Well, he is simply an ignorant person if he believes chess is related to evil and jinns.

First of all, no such thing exists as jinns. It's just a religious fantasy that emerged many centuries ago in which a lot of things about nature weren't explained by science and social structures performed differently.

Secondly, "evil" is just a concept that stands for actions etc. that harm other people etc. It's not a living, seperate entity. Just think about it yourself. How, can a game of mind that gives you joy and improves your cognitive abilities be related to evil? And what is it in the game that would make it so? Try to answer these yourself and you'll soon realize your "proffessor" is an ignorant fool.

Would this be enough to invoke a jinn?

Is your professor telling you to stop playing chess?
Do you know what or who his sources are?
Kernicterus

Guys, quit calling this guy's professor an idiot. He might be wrong on this thing, but that doesn't mean he has no intelligence.

Exactly. This is insulting to idiots. At least they have an excuse for believing the things they do. There is absolutely no excuse for a professor to be expousing such nonsense, if that in fact is what he is doing. >:[

As long as you can agree that all religion is fantasy.

Until now, because this is utter baloney.

I think I lost 2 IQ points reading this thread, and I can't spare that many! I only have 5 left, and four of them are trying to remember the first few moves of the Sicilian Accelerated Dragon.

If one is to take this thread seriously then it makes me sad, very sad. Or to look at this thread from another angle: someday everyone on this planet might get something decent to eat and might be able obtain some basic knowledge & education ( with a big helping of common sense thrown in ? ). Not in my lifetime tho needless to say. When would I estimate this happy time to arrive ??? In the year 25-25 if man is still alive --- --- ---

the glass moves to 1, then to E, then 4. A while later it goes to Q, then H, then 5 and what I do is I turn the glass upside up, fill it with hard liquor and start speaking in tongues.
