Thank you for beautifuuuul game and also beautifuuuuul picture of beautifuuuul place for holidays grin.png You presented very well a good example of basic principles of positional chess such us active play, taking control over the centre, open ranks, files and diagonals - and all based on given pawn structure. The game is also good example how pawn sacrifice would dramatically improve positional value of a piece (aka bad Bishop) making it dominating monster.

I really like the idea of saccing the e-pawn and opening the diagonal for the bishop.  

 

But I have a question.  What about White playing Rc2 and preventing Black from playing Re2?  Isn't that better than playing Ra1?

@seniorpatzer I think there is a tactic after Rc2. taking on b3 twice due to back rank issues
