@x5tb don’t do that, focus on tactics and endgames, basic checkmates. Do a bunch of puzzles, if you don’t have a membership on chess.com, then go to Lich***

Me too! That's why I looked for this awesome article - Study Plan Directory - Chess.com, and it helped me a lot. I hope it will do the same for you guys.

I watched a video on youtube about endgames and i did way way better

I would say just study endgames

Also OP, if youre a piece up (knight/bishop/rook) just start trading. Nothing good ever came of me not trading in those situations. I think they call this simplifying

Welcome. happy.png There are many different ways to improve your game, a newcomer can be overwhelmed, so here is most of what you need to know:

-Learn opening principles and a simple opening (I recommend Scotch, Italian with Fried Liver Attack and Traxler Counterattack, London System, King's Indian Attack)
-Learn simple checkmates (scholars mate, knight/bishop/rook defended queen mates, back rank mates)
-Learn basic tactics (discovered attacks/checks, forks, skewers, pins)
-Learn basic endgames (pawn vs king, rook/queen ladder, odds)
From here, with this info, you should be able to connect different tactics as you go, and maybe learn a few more openings.  With all of the things I mentioned, you should be able to reach 1000.  Best of luck?
