I hate the chess community as a whole, but for the opposite reason of OP. I've always found the chess community doesn't gatekeep enough, and is too encouraging and almost has a pathological fear of telling people that they're bad at chess and really have no business playing.

That happens quite often unfortunately. But don't let that upset you too much . I can assure you , over time you will have more positive interactions with your opponents than not .
The laugh emojis are annoying but I recommend just being snarky back(while being respectful) I just recommend sending the snooze emoji show that you don't care usually they stop talking if they continue harassing you block them(usually the only ones who do that are sexual harassers but that's rare)

basixTheSwexy, funny to see you comment on this thread as you chirped me on a post I started. OP, I totally agree with you. I had (mistakenly) thought it was a civilized game but many of the players on here have taught me otherwise. It’s full of immature boors.

It's just a matter of time and you will get out of your losing streak, just calm down.
Also you're 1400 rated on blitz, you're not that bad, never underestimate your skills.
Why OP? How many games did you lost last few days? Bad days happen.
Don’t let it get to you, if someone mock you after beating you, it just shows that there life sucks and they need to down others to feel better. Just talk trash back, or mute your chat.
