Chess Position Trainer Software?

Has anyone had any experience with the free Chess Position Trainer software?  I don't want to download some junk program.  I am on a tight budget so I am looking for freebies.  I want to work on getting a solid opening repertoire and this program is supposed to help, and  it's free.  Any strings attached?

Thanks.

It's free, and it's a good program. For building an opening repertoire, it's perhaps the best (free) program out there. However, although it allows you to create and manage your repertoires, it does not do the work for you. You still have to set up the whole repertoire yourself by either entering all the moves you want to play or importing games with your repertoire.

But yes it's free and there are no strings attached.

Thanks.  I was wondering if I was wasting my time.

If you're looking for something free, check out Repertree.com. We have a free tier and we're in beta right now so happy to bump up the limits if you want to explore it! We built this after trying a few other tools. Not CPT directly, but we never tried it just bc it looked clunky, but it seems lots of people use it. We are looking at building a CPT import tool soon!
