Is there any software that can create chess puzzles for kids?

I am teaching chess for my son but most of the puzzles are hard for him. I would like to create the puzzle scenarios myself but without having to print them on paper to keep it as enjoyable as possible.

Any software out there that can help with this?

What exactly do you mean by 'create puzzles'? Without any input from yourself?

Create the puzzle means: I will setup the position myself

for the printing part: that's what I am doing today. Creating the positions on a pgn reader then taking screenshot and printing it on paper for him to solve.

Lol, sorry, I'm probably a little dim, but I'm not exactly sure what you want the software to do?

Do you just want to store positions, or let our kid pla them out against an engine?

Maybe you could just make a blog post and insert your own diagrams made here.

Yes to store the positions so that he can go through them one by one and to tell him whether what he tries is right or wrong.

Well, I would suggest a gui like Scid .

Make a database and enter your positions in there.

Scid has an option to mark tactical excercises, I've never used it, but the helpfile is quite good.

G'day Mike.

You should create an account in chesskid.com for your son. It should have puzzles designed specifically for kids.

Btw, this website is run by chess.com.

This link takes you to the puzzles there.

I'm assuming the original poster's kid is all grown up now, but in case anyone else is in a similar position, I've created a website that lets you make your own pdf puzzle sheets or pgn files. You can select puzzles from our database (currently over 700,000 puzzles) by theme and difficulty or by what opening the puzzle occurred in. The pdf sheet will also include an answer sheet and you can use the pgn file to make interactive puzzles on sites like chess.com.

The site is www.puzzlebase.com.au
